Registration and profile

What does SLY Group provide?

SLY Group is a two-sided home-services marketplace. Customers use the platform to request and book available home and household services. Professionals use it to create a work profile, find available jobs and orders, and send offers for work they can perform. SLY Group provides the platform that connects both sides and supports requests, offers, secure messages, payment records, and bookings. A professional is not automatically an SLY Group employee, and the platform does not guarantee a job, a booking, or a specific price.

How is my professional profile approved?

SLY Assistant checks that the registration is complete and that the live profile photo meets the published rules. Unclear, inconsistent, or safety-related cases are sent to an administrator. A new photo or more information may be requested. Approval does not guarantee jobs and is not a background, license, insurance, identity-document, or skills verification.

What makes an acceptable profile photo?

Use the live camera. Show one adult, face and shoulders, good light, ordinary clothing, and a simple indoor background. Do not use hats, sunglasses, another person, a street, a vehicle, or an uploaded old photo.

Can I use the same email as both a customer and a professional?

Yes. A new SLY user creates an email and password during professional registration. If you already have a SLY account, keep one email and one current password; adding the professional role uses that existing password. To add the customer role, start “Book a Cleaning,” choose “I already have an account,” enter the same email and password, and complete the request. When both roles are active, sign-in shows a Customer or Professional choice. You can switch later from the menu next to your name without signing out.

Services, jobs, and offers

Can I offer services other than cleaning?

Yes. SLY Group is a two-sided home-services marketplace: customers use it to request and book services, while professionals use it to create a work profile, find available jobs and orders, and send offers. Current professional categories include cleaning, mobile interior car cleaning, laundry, ironing, home organization, simple handyman tasks, Moving Help, and Interior Painting. SLY Group connects the two sides but does not guarantee a job or represent itself as a licensed professional contractor. The accepted written scope and local requirements control.

How do I price a job?

Open the job, review the requested service, notes, schedule, ZIP, travel estimate, and extras, then enter the total the customer would pay. Review only the job-specific fee or payment terms shown in your account. The customer chooses whether to accept; SLY Assistant cannot promise earnings or payout.

What should I write with my price offer?

Keep it short and specific. State what is included, crew size if helpful, and any scope assumption. Example: “My $260 offer includes two cleaners, the selected add-ons, supplies, and approximately four hours on site.”

When can I see the customer’s address, and how do I contact them?

Before selection you see only the limited job information needed to decide and price the work. The exact address and access details appear after the customer chooses you. Personal phone numbers and emails remain private; use secure messages.

What if the property is different from the request?

Do not silently change the price or continue unsafe work. Use the condition report in the accepted job, add current evidence, explain the difference, and contact the customer through secure messages. A dispute or safety issue becomes an exception for SLY Group.

How do I close a job?

Update the job status as you travel and work. For card jobs, complete the job after payment is confirmed. For cash or check, both customer and professional confirm the same payment; the job closes and any applicable SLY commission is recorded as due.

Payments and commission

Do I pay to see a lead or apply for a job?

No. SLY Group does not sell leads, and viewing or applying for a job is free. Until separate notice, the standard professional commission is 15% of a completed accepted order with no minimum, unless a displayed promotion applies. For card orders, Stripe separates the SLY commission automatically. For confirmed cash or check orders, the customer pays the professional directly and the SLY commission is recorded in the professional balance.

Why do I have SLY commission due?

For confirmed cash or check orders, the customer pays you directly and the standard 15% SLY commission is recorded in your professional balance. Until that balance is paid, new cash and check jobs are paused, but card jobs remain available. Pay only the exact balance shown in your account through the provided Stripe payment step.

Why must I connect Stripe?

Stripe sends card payments directly to an independent professional’s connected account and sends the platform commission to SLY Group. Stripe processing fees may apply to card payments. Enter bank, identity, and tax information only in Stripe’s protected onboarding. SLY Group does not store your bank details or hold the full customer payment.

Is there a discount for my first cleaning?

Eligible new customers in Philadelphia ZIP codes beginning with 191 receive $25 off their first cleaning when the final card price is $250 or more. The offer is applied automatically at Stripe checkout after a professional is selected; no promo code is required. It is not available outside those Philadelphia ZIP codes or for cash or check, cannot be combined with another promotion, and does not reduce the professional's accepted payout.

Handyman work and support

Can I register for handyman jobs without a trade license?

Yes. Select only the simple categories you can perform, such as furniture assembly, ordinary wall hanging and shelves, or caulking and small drywall repair. You do not need to choose a separate Handyman profile or upload a license document for those categories. The site does not promise that every task is license-free everywhere; the exact scope and local requirements still control. A specialized job that requires a license, registration, certification, or permit is shown only to professionals whose matching credential and authorization have been reviewed for that category.

What does a licensed, registered, or certified handyman submit?

Select Handyman / licensed trade work, check each license, registration, or certification category you hold, and provide your practical experience, tools and transportation answers, credential number, issuing authority, state or jurisdiction, insurance answer, and a private credential document. The expiration date is optional. Only the SLY Group owner can open the document. A declared credential is not treated as reviewed and does not unlock specialized work until SLY Group checks it for the applicable category and location. After approval, the professional may receive only matching jobs covered by that credential and authorization; availability is not guaranteed.

Can I register as a handyman without tools or transportation?

Yes, you can submit the registration and answer No honestly. Those answers are shown to SLY Group during review. Approval and suitable jobs depend on whether you can arrive and complete the selected work safely with the required tools. Never apply for work you cannot safely perform, and do not assume the customer provides tools unless the written request and your accepted offer say so.

When does SLY Group need to step in?

Use support for safety concerns, suspected fraud, disputes, refunds, serious complaints, or conflicting completion and payment information. SLY Assistant can explain published rules but cannot promise that a particular person will review, approve, or decide a case.
